I'm thinking of buying our mum a little 22 or 24" Freeview TV for her bedroom, maybe something like this:

Thing is, it would be a real PITA trying to wire it to the current outdoor aerial as thats the other side of her house. Not expecting pin sharp reception but can anyone recommend any indoor aerials that just plug & play?

Is something like this much cop or do I need to be spending much more?

It's pot luck with indoor aerials if you're in a good reception area then you may be lucky, if not you'll have no chance. If you get one from somewhere that will except returns without any hassle then get one and give it a go.

The one you highlighted will be better than most as it is active/powered, problem is you cannot boost what isn't there!

You need to check the signal strength oherwise you might end up seeing nothing or only a few digital channels.

After reading a lot of good reviews I use one of these for a tv upstairs, it works very well and I get all channels no problem at all. You can buy it at a number of stores, Asda were the cheapest.
