are there still any 50G20's out there?
Discussion
Hello All,
I am probably a little late for this, but recently I have seen a few threads on deals with Panasonics 50G20B TV. I am now in the market for one, and can't seem to find any with a good deal on.
In short, I am after a 50" plasma TV, I don't want 3D, but ideally I would like freesat built in, and the general consensus is that the panny is hard to beat.
Hopefully someone knows of something that might fit the bill.
Thanks
T

That TV is over a year old. Do you realise how fast TVs are progressing these days? Also why do you want a plasma TV? I thought consensus was that LCD TVs had surpassed plasma, which is probably why you can't find any anymore. I agree 3D is neither here nor there, but you can probably find something pretty amazing for the price you were expecting to pay for a 50 inch plasma.I am probably a little late for this, but recently I have seen a few threads on deals with Panasonics 50G20B TV. In short I don't have any suggestions, except that around TV buying time I reintroduce myself to avforums.com and read until my head explodes and then just buy something on a whim.
Thanks guys for your help, for the money I am looking at spending, I am sure they can't be beaten (£5-600). I'm not overly fussed about being a year old, as I have Sky SD, an up-scaling DVD player, and have no interest in 3D.
Looks like I'll keep an ear to the ground, as there was a thread not so long ago with a cracking deal on them!
Thanks again
Tom

Well just to resurrect an old thread, I have found a 50G20B for £620 delivered (new).... yes, it is not the latest technology, but the reviews/suggestions speak for themselves.
I have no interest in 3D or anything, and wanted Freesat built in ideally, but for the money, I am well chuffed!
Just thought I'd mention in case anyone was interested.

That's even better Mark then...the add did say that, but wasn't sure! HD was not a dealbreaker either way, but if it has it, then it's a bonus!
Will hopefully be well worth the wait...I just know if I'd have got something else, I'd have regretted it! Still, the alternatives (with freesat built in) were well out of my price range.

Mark, I don't think I want to see your other thread do I? After just shelling out for my measly 50". Anyway, it's got to be better than 'temporary' LG 32" that was brought as a bedroom TV and has not yet been replaced, so I'm still a happy camper!
ETA Mark, I think I hate you... A Chim AND a Cerb? You could be very charitable and lend me one on permanent loan! Right now, I would sell my soul for either! I'm not jealous

If you did your legwork ok the 50" will be fine for you.
