can i just put it up in the bedroom and plug a TV in? i dont want any of the cchannels i already pay for ( i have sky world .

i dont want to pay another £10 a month - i'd be happy with just the freeview channels. is it just a case of splitting the satellite cable and running it through the ceiling to the bedroom?

usually they only fit duals unless they are fitting multiroom or you ask nicely smile

Quite often with recent installations or replacement due to damage/weather, I've seen quads fitted. I reckon they would be better off keeping a stock of quads with one eye on future upgrades, rather than duals which will be obsolete.

Definitely worth taking a peek at your dish just in case it's a straight plug and play.

When I had Sky+HD fitted last year, they had to replace the whole dish as it was as old as the hills and had a single lnb. The guy fitted a quad lnb for me and ran a cable from it to my Freesat tv for free as well. If you ask them nicely, they'll usually go the extra mile for you.

you must need the "special heights team" smile i had the same thing when they came to install my HD. the original guy wouldnt go up onto the roof so i had to wait for a guy with a harness.

i'm going to get out and have a look at my dish when it stops raining.

thanks for all this.

Dave.

The guy will fit whatever he had on his van, he seriously isnt bothered if he fit an octo LNB and only uses one feed if it gets him home earlier wink
