About to purchase either a 50 or 55 inch 3D whopper! Currently sitting 2m from a 42 inch.

For the rare times I'd be viewing a 3D bluray 55" seems to make sense purely for immersion but would I regret it for 2D as being too big? Is 50" the sensible choice?

We have our 60".... and next step is a projector, it's just not big enough any more.

I think that is an issue.

We used a projector for films for a few years, but not in the room that was to end up our 'cinema'. Maybe that's why the new TV looks small. Pity that the new room is not particularly suited to a projector.

Same here. Had 3 projectors before and got my eyes on the JVC's prices as they will undoubtedly drop over the next couple of years.

Just fitted a 85" 3D screen, with a viewing distance of 2.5m. i originally thought this would be hard on the eyes, however its spot on.
Watching Wimbeldon in 3D was amazing, however as ever it comes at a cost.
