Hi

I have Spotify on my mobile and would like to get an wifi radio like this Roberts to listen to it. Is that possible?

I spoke with Roberts earlier but they didn't think it was possible - maybe my mistake as I didn't clarify quickly enough I wasn't trying to link the phone to Spotify directly and they got hung up on that because you can do that with last.fm

All I want to do is have a wireless connection - wifi or bluetooth - from my mobile with a DAB or internet radio and play music through that connection. Easy? If the Robert's radio can't do it, any other suggestions?

There are going to be two ways to play Spotify from your phone through some external system:

1. Using a cable from the headphone socket on your phone to an 'Auxilary Input' on the stereo system of choice.

2. Using Bluetooth audio to stream the audio to a stereo system. There are lots of bluetooth headphones around, but I'm not aware of a stereo system that will accept streaming bluetooth audio, however I'm sure they do exist. Actually, a quick search found this http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/135... which is basically a cordless version of option 1.

If you only want to use it for spotify though, then a decent pair of portable speakers, or 'computer speakers' might be a better option? eg like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-Inspire-T10-Multi...

ETA: Just to clarify, the 'WIFI Radio' you are talking about uses WIFI to receive internet based radio stations. You can't use the wifi as a means of transmitting audio from your phone to the radio. (well, you could in theory, but you'd have to set up your phone to stream audio over tcp/ip - which may or may not be possibly depending on if someone has written an app for it)

Why not just get an Internet radio (like a Squeezebox) and cut out the middleman?

Because you can't use Spotify on an 'internet radio' (which is what the Roberts one is that the OP is referring to).

Spotify is an on-demand music streaming service, with near enough to every song ever published available on demand at any time.

Might be a bit overkill for your needs, but spotify streams great from iphone to apple tv wirelessly (Apple TV connected to amp).

But you can on a Squeezebox, and I think Sonos does it too.
