s-video into projector was colour, now b & w

Bad connection on the plug/cable fault? the S-video is sent as a seperate monochrome image (luminance) and colour signal so if it lost the colour info you would still get the black and white image.
Had it happen to me a lot in a van I had with CCTV monitors in the back, the mechanical vibration would cause them to fail after a while.
