Need to buy a new TV for the kitchen/dining room. I won't be requiring additional speakers or adding any players, boxes etc. I just want a 32"er with the best picture quality and obviously freeview enabled. It doesn't have to be from John Lewis, but like the sound of the 5 year guarantee, and the decent range/choice of sets.

So, for around £500... which will do me proud? thumbup

eta - budget happily increased if it buys a much better set smile

Plasma and 1080p are probably wasted on a small screen. Plus you get a £100 to spend on something else.

Thanks TP. That looks very reasonably priced.Tempted to put one of these in the kids bedroom upstairs too, as it mentions suitability for gaming. Wonder if they do discount for 2 biggrin

It states LCD/LED. Is it LED or LCD? Am i right in thinking LED is better than LCD? or am i opening a can of worms..

It's LCD. LED is a bit misleading as the panel is still LCD but it's just lit using LEDs. Doesn't make a great deal of difference to the picture quality from what I have seen but does mean the panels can be thinner, lighter and consume less electricity. Maybe have a look at a few (although showrooms are far from suitable viewing conditions) but to be honest, for a "secondary TV" and only 32", I wouldn't think that it's worth spending too much more than £400. Can't see how you can go wrong with one. Certainly don't think it's worth paying extra for 1080p if you are only sending a HD Freeview signal too it.

Ah, that makes more sense then, doesn't take much to confuse me biggrin. As for TV showrooms - i fully agree with you. Point taken re 1080p.

Thanks again beer
