Following a thread a month ago where I said I didn't want a Foxsat HDR, and you all said I did, I've bought one and you were right.

I've plumbed Freesat all round the house so I've got 'live' freesat in our bedroom and the HDR in the lounge (which is directly underneath our bedroom).

What I want to do now is watch (and control) the saved programming on my HDR (in the lounge) on the TV in the bedroom.

Or should I just ask for the moon on a stick? Any ideas?

Oooh promising.

So my new setup would go:

Satellite feed into lounge (x2) - HDR - HDMI to splitter - HDMI to lounge TV.

And for upstairs:

Satellite feed into lounge (x2) - HDR - HDMI to splitter - HDMI to Cat 5 Converter - CAT 5 cable to the bedroom - Cat 5 'unconverter' - HDMI to TV

And a stand-alone IR extender using radio waves, or does the IR extender use the Cat 5 too?

Thanks ever so much.

That's the beauty of it, the CAT5 HDMI extender passes IR too biggrin

This is exactly what I've just had delivered, it's sitting in a box waiting for me to set it up with my Foxsat(although in my case it's between main TV and a multiroom system).

Hang on if you like and I'll let you know how it goes before you take the plunge. I've bought loads of converters and extenders from CPC before though and they all work like a dream.

As long as your not too fussed with HD this is the starting point, just needs a run of coax, use WF100.

A timely thread... Ive also been looking into hdmi/ethernet for pushing sky downstairs into another room - let us know what you decide and how you get on. You would still need the splitter but I raise you these wall plates to tidy the job up nicely!

I was planning to do this next year but not sure how much longer I can wait..
