With Sonos, only one component needs to be hardwired to your router. This can be the Zonebridge or any Sonos sound output unit. The Zonebridge is only needed if your router is in a room that you don't want to put a Sonos Play:3/Play:5 or ZP90 or ZP120 in. Or I guess if your router is in a location in the room where you don't necessarily want to place a sound unit and don't want an ethernet cable trailing around the room to where you do!!
