Original Sky HD box
Discussion
I'm having an equipment clear out and seeing as I stopped subscribing to sky a couple of years ago I have a Sky HD box (early with component outs) and remote that is in my pile of unused electricals.
It was working fine last time I used it.
Firstly - any way to check if it's all still working, I have a dish and a feed which is unused and (I think) the old card. Will it still receive the free channels so I can check it before giving it away?
Secondly - does anyone want it for free/as a spare/whatever or should I just bin the bd?

An old card/box should allow u to view the free channels.
Yrs ago I borrowed a friends old box/card to watch tv on in a new house while I waited for Sky to start my new service. Worked perfectly fine for free to air channels and I think the card was years old/expired subscription as well.
Sky+ functionality obv won't work but I'd just assume its ok.
Is it not worth keeping or yourself as backup/eBay it for £30?

Cheers I'll check it still works, BT have given me BT vision for free for as long as I'm at my property and the bedroom screens have built in freeview so no need.Yrs ago I borrowed a friends old box/card to watch tv on in a new house while I waited for Sky to start my new service. For £30 or so I'd rather give it away than deal with the hassle of any possible issues with a buyer to be honest!!
