Looking for an iDock to spend Santa's money with after I mug him on my roof!

I have been looking at reviews for this:

I love the idea of the valve amplifier and the funky looks of it.

What dock systems have you got/would you recommend?

Cheers

I've not listened to that model but owned an i-Tube Red-i and now own a Roth MC4.

I have to say the Roth is by far the better product although with both the speakers are no way as good as the docks. For me the Roth is a lot more valve like and has a warmth and clarity that the Fatman just does not have. The Fatman is still a good product but the Roth is another league ahead and can be partnered with much higher quality speakers.

I would imagine the dock that you're looking at is no different in terms of speakers. If you can buy one without speakers and then spend some money on a half decent pair then you will undoubtedly get better results although you'll end up spending about £500.

Having said that the B&W Zeppelin costs £400 and having listened to one of these reckon a Fatman/speaker combo will blow one into the weeds.

I have the Zeppelin Air and am very happy with it.

Whichever setup you end up with, add an airport express or appletv to it so you get to use Airplay from your iTunes using your iPod as the remote smile

I think the Fatman iTube is more in budgey at around £150 - £200 - and that is at a stretch!

I would really like to have a listen to one, does anyone know of any places that offer that facility?

Any conventions coming up?
