I'm looking to buy a small TV to go in the room in the pics and would welcome some advice.

I did have a look through threads on here but they're mostly about main/home/large TVs whereas this is for a smallish room and 26" would be the absolute max size not to overwhelm the space (I think).

It's a holiday let so it doesn't need to be all singing all dancing, but easy to use, reliable enough, with Freeview and can connect to a dvd (or built in). I'd like to spend less than £200 if poss.

I started looking at LCD but then an LED one came up and, apart from being slimmer, giving me the option of wall-mounting it, I don't know the pro's and con's. As you can see, viewing angle is an issue, but the main criteria are ease of operation for the customer, reliability for me.

Initially though this http://direct.asda.com/Samsung-LE22D450-22ins-Full... (not necessarily from Asda)

Then saw this, with built in DVD (= 1 remote) http://www.comet.co.uk/p/LCD-TVs/buy-FERGUSON-F240...

But then saw this LCD at a similar price with 5 year guarantee http://www.johnlewis.com/231434207/Product.aspx

I'm sure PHers know more about this than me, and I'd be grateful for your advice.

Thanks

Always buy a branded TV ie samsung sony toshiba etc, cheap own brand supermarket ones will have no spare parts importer.

If you can, go and see them working, some pictures are better than others.

On a small screen viewing angle does need to be right or the picture turns sepia/negative.

The John Lewis one looks quite good esp with the 5 year warranty

That's a good point about the viewing angles, however that model does not have a built in DVD player.. which would lead to clutter in a tidy room IMO.

Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, the Toshiba one was on my list of possibles, though the sounds isn't supposed to be very good. Might be good enough though. Unheard of brand, hadn't thought of that, though not keen anyway. 5 year warranty appeals as the fridge just died after a year and it being a holiday let you just have to replace it quickly

Yes, all in one would be good, but as long as I lose the separate freeview box as having three remotes is confusing.

I'll get out tomorrow afternoon and have a look/watch/listen.

Thanks
