Bang & Olufsen LCD advice sought. (FAO OldSkool)
Discussion
I am toying with the idea of buying a used B&O lcd.
I know nothing whatsoever about them.
THe ones which seem to be readily available are
Beovision 7-32
Beovision 7-40
Beovision 8-40
Beovision 6-26.
Have I missed any?
Often I see the above with the words "mark1" or "mark2". ANyone know the differences?

You could also check out Beovision 10s - there's the odd one for sale at the specialist B&O secondhand dealers. It's a really nice set, incredibly slim, but probably a bit more expensive that the other TVs on your list.
The BV7 is up to MkV now (I think). The big change was to the Mk3, which comes with a different chassis based on the Beosystem 3 and has 'modern' HDMI connections. Apart from that fundamental change, in general I think the major change is just better LCD panels. That said, I've been very happy with my Mk2 and have only recently demoted it. One thing to note with the BV7s is that you'll need external speakers, which will add to the cost significantly.
The BV6-26 is probably more of a 'kitchen' TV in my opinion. I don't know much about the BV8, but personally I'm unconvinced by the looks.

I cant bring myself to spend that much, plus I think they are 50 inch? I dont really want to go above 32 and 40 at a maximum. Further, the technology seemingly moves so quickly on TVs that the thought of spending several thousand pounds on something that is virtually obsolete in 3 or 4 years is too much to bear.redmax said:

.
THanks. DO you know if they are compatible with non B&O speakers?.
Are they all HD?
What do I need HDMI connections for?
I have a Beovision 7-32 with motorised floor stand and the big speaker underneath. New I think it was £6.5K. To be honest the picture is fine, it looks great etc - the remote is a bit pants and old school now.
You can pay over £2 or 3K for one second hand.
Check you get the receipt, the pin code and the stats for the useage screen shot.
