In ceiling rear speaker positioning?
Discussion
Due to space and things like pelmets and doors I'm looking at using In-ceiling speakers for my 5.1 rears.
I know they need to be a certain distance from the walls, but because of my small lounge (4.2m x 4.9m) the sofa is up against the wall so the rears would probably be slightly in-front of where I sit.
Or would they be ok set to the side of the sofa?
1 = is the sub, 2 = the fronts, tv = tv & centre and the red circles are where I'm thinking of putting the speakers.
Also I'm in New Zealand so speaker choice is limited.

Most systems have a degree of compromise in them and whilst what you've drawn is a compromise, it's one that will work fine and is very similar to my home setup. Try and choose some in ceiling speakers which are bi/di-pole as they generally have a wide dispersion so will make the most of the position they're in for a surround effect.
Something like these would work well
