3rd party/ unofficial 3d active specs

Purchased a viera 3d tv today without the glasses. Now i'm not massively fussed about 3D but it would be nice to give it a try. I don't want to spend 70 quid plus on glasses that i may only use once, so has anyone used the cheapo ones off ebay that come from china and the likes? Can anyone compare offical to unoffical?
