Panasonic gt30 - cant disPlay virgin media 1080p?
Discussion
Hi, has anyone got a gt30 Panasonic plasma to work with. Virgin media 1080p?
When I run the resolution test the highest it gets up to is 1080i. I've swapped to an hdmi v1.4 cable and that's made no difference. TiVo uses 1080 p 25fps (not 24fps) if that makes any difference.
I'm a. It annoyed as expected the tv to handle everything. It's runs 1080p off the blu ray no problem.
Has anyone got their vt30 or st30 to work with TiVo or are we all in the same. Boat?

Looking at the 1080p settings on my TiVo I can only get 1080p if I select 1080i and then its 'pass through' only so content at 1080i or lower does not get scaled upto 1080p, only 1080p content shows up as 1080p.
I dont have that telly but the settings should all be the same from the TiVo box.

The TiVo box has a resolution test where you hit the green thumbs up to confirm you can see each resolution. All of them show fine except the 1080p where the screen is just blank.
I see what your saying, at the moment though it shouldnt be an issue as I dont think there is any 1080p content being shown? If the TV is 1080p then it should show up 1080p on the resolution test.
Not really going to be an issue at the moment if no 1080p content is available. But you obviously want to sort it ready for when it is.
Ive had a look at the online manuals and the settings on the Panasonic are not easy are they?
Its probably only a matter of turning a setting off or on though, good luck.
There is no resolution settings on the TV, if you give it 1080p it should display it no problem. If your Blu-Ray is fine at 1080p and you have tried a different lead then there is no problem with your TV so I would get the cable guy out to it could well be a dicky box, it could also be they dont use the 1080p functionality of it yet.
