Want a 46-50" TV which can also be used as a 2nd PC monitor
Discussion
I'm looking to get a second TV between 46-50" which i can use for watching DVDs and blu-rays, but also i want to use it as a secondary monitor to connect to my PC, as i have ripped some of my DVDs and blu-rays to it, and will want to watch them directly from the computer.
I will want to wall mount it, i'm not really fussed about the speakers as it will be connected to a 5.1 surround system. Thinking about LED or Plasma. LED for the thickness of it when it is on the wall, but Plasma because i will be able to get more for my money.
3D? Not too sure about this! I'm not really sold on the idea, and can't really picture myself sat in my own house watching a film with the glasses on. But then again, it's my choice if the TV has it.
Upmost priority is the picture quality. My budget is up to £700.
Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks

I use a TV as my main PC monitor.
One thing that was very important was making sure it will work with the resolutions you can provide it.
For it to look good as a monitor the TV needs to have a mode where it will do no up/downscaling to the resolution. It goes by different names, such as 1:1 pixel mapping etc. LG call it 'just scan'. during my research I found that the LG TV's consistently seemed the best option.
I am very happy with mine - with the PC outputting at 1920x1080 (I.E. standard 'HD' resolution) the TV reproduces it beautifully - its great.
a lot of people reported problems with some other brands, generally where you could not fully turn off all the processing and scaling fully, resulting in blurry or funny looking displays.
Thus for PC (and gaming) use, I would recommend an LG panel.
