50GT30 BBC iplayer screen burn
Discussion
I can't really help with your question - save to say that my 50g10 (which is I think 2 previous generations old and lower spec) does show temporary screenburn, not seen anything permanent after 2 years of use.
My main rant is that these channel logos should be ILLEGAL - so annoying seeing them there permanently on most of the bloody channels out there. American TV is even worse in this regard.

I recently bought a new plasma. It has a few features to prevent screen burn, such as "auto off" if unattended. And "auto off" after a certain time. And "auto off" if no input. It also has a timer function that juggles the picture around by a few pixles every few minutes, so it's not a 100% static image, even with the "DOG's" as they are called.
It also has a feature to remove screen burn if it occurs, which is basically a fade from black to while (think it was black to white, could have been white to black) which pulses across the screen and basically fully "power cycling" each pixle to eliminate the problem.
I know early plasma's used to be notorious for it, but I can't think of the last time I saw/read about someone having a problem with a recent set. (Well, appart from when your mates try scare monger you whilst shopping for a new screen!)
