Please investigate alternatives before using these things. They are effectively broadband radio jammers and obliterate the entire HF spectrum. The faster ones cause huge interference all the way up to the DAB broadcast band at 200MHz or so.
Sadly this plea will fall on deaf ears. But you are right of course.
Quite how they meet with RF transmission requirements escapes me, but as they're classed as a 'closed loop' device, I guess that's how they get away with it.
I have a couple of oldish ones still in use. Netgear something or other I think. Fast enough for me. They get a bit hot, and they have (I believe) jammed my car's keyfob on occasion.
One other problem is that mine appear to be proprietary in the protocol they speak, and won't work with any other model, which makes getting an additional unit a pain. So check that if expansion might be an issue for you.
Overall, they are better than wireless for me, but I'd rather be able to run cables (not practical at the moment).

They don't meet any of the requirements but ofcom have their head up their backside over it. They are fully aware of the problem but aren't doing anything about it.But you are right of course.
