Hi all,

Me and the future missus are doing a long road trip soon which will involve a lot of driving.

I have a headphone outlet on the stereo in the car, a 110 Land Rover Defender, and thought that when the other person is driving and needs to relax, that being able to listen to some audiobooks etc without any background noise would be a good way to relax while the other person drives.

So, a few questions.

I've only used ones on planes and they have 3 pins, does this mean they are powered seperately?

If battery powered, do the batteries last or should we look at taking a few spare batteries for a 16 day trip?

Any make to look out for? I'm going to try and get them when I fly home via Dubai so want to pick them up there is possible.

Dave!

A few years ago I got some cheap sony noise canceling 'phones from a vending machine in an airport, they were pretty effective although they have now passed on the the great electronic graveyard in the sky - they were powered by a triple A battery, which lasted quite a while.
The ones I had were switchable so when not needing the noise canceling they worked as normal 'phones, I am not sure they all do this, but it probably saves on battery use

I've had Bose Quiet Comfort ones for years.
The AAA battery lasts about 25 hours, take a spare just in case.
