TV signal into AV receiver
Discussion
I have the following set-up, a bit long winded, sorry!
Sky+HD in the lounge and fed through cable to our bedroom, all ok.
Sky+ in the study feeding 5 rooms in the house using a powered splitter all working OK.
The signal to the games room is fed via a standard TV cable to a VCR which in turn feeds via scart to the back of my Yamaha AV receiver into component - all works OK.
The projector I've just bought has HDMI input so the Blueray, Apple TV etc which feeds into the receiver using HDMI are output at 720, but the TV signal from the VCR is fed using component and is therefore analogue and in turn is fed from the 'monitor output' of the AV receiver to the projector and is therefore not upscaled.
Any idea what I might need to do to take the TV signal from the standard cable to an HDMI input into the back of the receiver?
I had thought of buying a cheap freeview box with HDMI out, plugging the arial cable into it and then feeding it to the receiver, but I'm not sure that it will work because my brain tells me the signal from the Sky+ box is analogue and the freeview receiver won't see it?
Your thoughts would be appreciated
