I've just bought a new TV (Samsung D6530 www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/televis... ) and was wondering what the best way to connect my non HDMI Xbox. I have two leads for it. One is the composite which I assume I'd have to use the SCART adaptor for and the other is a VGA connection but as the TV doesn't have a red/white audio in I presume I need a lead to go from the plug on the back of the Xbox to the audio in on the TV, think they can it mini jack? Is this right?

SCART will carry both audio and video. You should only need that.

You can use the mini jack with an adapter if you need to.

I know SCART will work but as the VGA cable is supposed to be a better connection I was going to give that a go, just not sure how to connect up the audio

If you use the VGA cable then you will need to use the mini jack for the audio (looks the same as a headphone connector). I douibt the VGA will give a better picture though as they are both analogue signals and the resolution will be the deciding factor.

Scart is actually better than plain (composite) video.

In a proper implementation of SCART, the colour signal is split off into the separate RGB components, so yielding better quality.

It's second only to DVI / HDMI (if you could really compare the two).
