Hi,

I'm looking for some replacement headphones, primarily for use in the gym. They need to be kind of waterproof, since i tend to sweat heavily doing cardio stuff! My SoundMagics have given up in one ear from sweat getting in them, and i never felt the bass was quite strong enough anyway.

So, something with strong bass is a bonus. Budget is up to £50.

TIA!

I use Skullcandy Smokin Buds. Not the last word in quality audio, but cheap enough to not worry about it. My first pair lasted me 4 years of gym usage, the second pair is still going strong. Not waterproof, but they don't seem to suffer at all from my lardy frame sweating like a pregnant nun.

I have gone with these.

They get mixed reviews but I think they are great. They are solid on my head while I am working it out and the sound quality seems to be pretty good to me (using an iPhone).

Search for finlandia's thread on ph. He seems to have reviewed them all.

Thanks for the replies guys. The Bluetooth thing looks very cool, but i'd keep forgetting to charge it! Te skullcnadies seem to have good reviews for the price so they may well be a possibility!

Finlandia's review are indeed excellent, although I don't think he includes "water proofness" in his reviews smile

Quick update...

I ended up getting these, even though they're slightly over budget:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-CX-680i-Noise-I...

They arrived today, first impressions are good. Plenty of accessories, very comfortable fit for me.

The sound so far is excellent IMO. They have pretty strong bass without much compromise on the higher pitches, what I was looking for. They also claim to be sweat proof, i will find out tomorrow at the gym!

Thanks for the suggestions anyway smile

I cannot express just how disappointed I was with the Sennheiser 680 Adidas I got for my bikeride.

Any small breeze or movement of the head and the blasted things fell out. The rubber shields fit sod all and nobody on earth has ears that big.

Never again.

Ah well there seems to be a significant difference between the CX680 and PMX680 models you refer to - they have different ways of being secured. The CX680i ones feel very secure in my ears.

Good choice. I have the CX 680 with slightly different cable management. Very happy with them.
