Sky+ HD on non HD TV
Discussion
Can I use a Sky+ HD box and watch HD channels on a non-HD TV? I want to upgrade to get the F1 without paying £20+/month to get Sky Sports. I can justify spending £10/month to get HD and when my current TV breaks I will upgrade to a HD telly but want to be able to use it in the meantime.

Yes, it has SCART output on the box so you can watch all the channels, including HD, in SD quality.dave_s13 said:
As long as you can physically connect your old telly to the Sky box I'd have thought so.
Why delay the inevitable though, just get a HD telly bought.
Yes it would be nice to replace the TV too but I have get Dr's papers from SWMBO to upgrade the Sky subscription to watch the F1, which she doesn't like so a new TV might be pushing it. Expecially as I vetoed a new hoover last month! Why delay the inevitable though, just get a HD telly bought.

I am in OP's position too, and just cannot bring myself to dumping my Sony32 CRT that cost me over a grand, just 'because' Why delay the inevitable though, just get a HD telly bought.

I then caved in and bought a 50" GT30, so I now have a perfectly good 36" PD30 sat in the dining room.
