Hi,

I'm off to help fit a SKY HD box at my Mum's tomorrow. They currently have 'normal' SKY and have upgraded to HD and SKY have sent them a + box to fit themselves. Does anyone know what's involved with changing the boxes over?

I'm hoping that it's just a case of plugging it in, or am I being a bit naive?!

I'm not sure whether this should be in the TV section, gadgets or here so if it's in the wrong place feel free to move it mod's. I just thought you lot may be a bit more technical.

Any help or advice, very much appreciated!

Sky shouldn't be able to send a Sky+HD box if your parents have 'normal' Sky (which I would assume means a Digibox and not Sky+?) as there needs to be two feeds from the dish to allow the Sky+ functions to work properly. This also usually entails the changing of the LNB as alluded to above.

They have SKY+ but not HD. By normal I meant normal picture quality, sorry for the confusion - as you can tell I'm probably not the best person to have asked to help them set it up hehe
