That was over a year ago, still haven’t convinced myself to replace the AV Rec & Blu-ray box
One option is to wire directly to your TV with a new HDMI cable (doesn't have to be expensive just because it's 3D capable 
). You then connect the optical or coax output of your (3d) BluRay player to the receiver, but you will forgo the HD soundtrack, though some players can do a DTS re-encode which means you get a 1.5mbps downmix of the HD soundtrack (which is more than double the bitrate of a typical DVD, so you still get some benefit on the sound front).
The other option is to buy a 3D player that has 2 HDMI outputs: One goes direct to the TV and the other to the amp, then you get 3D vision and full HD sound. I don't know how many players have the dual HDMI outputs, but I know for certain my Oppo BDP-93 has, I'm sure there are cheaper options too. However as 3D gives me a migrane I've not bothered upgrading my projector (I rarely watch BluRays on my TV).

Firstly, because it's bloody brilliant, and secondly because it has 2x HDMI outputs. You can configure one to output audio to an AV receiver (mine is connected to my non 3D compatible Onkyo TX-SR876) and the other connect directly to your 3D TV. Simple. And you're sorted for less than £200. I have that player and that HDMI lead, and they're great.
With regards to the films, try AV Forums classifieds. There are plenty of films in there for sale. I particularly like Avatar and Cars 2 3D.
