Recommend me a soundbar please

TV is a new 31" Sony with the sound going out through the mini phono sockets into an old Naim amp and into old Epos ES14s - speakers obviously either side of the TV. The sound is very grown up and restrained and I fancy something a bit livelier for watching the GPs and some of the fancier TV programmes. Also, I am getting a bit deaf and losing top and bottom sounds. I cannot have a 5.1 system as I don't want more speakers and cables so a soundbar would be ideal if it was good. I've checked the review sites and they are all a ho-hum abou the things so some real world feedback would be good.
I bought a Sharp sound bar a few months ago that is slightly wider than my 32" TV, got it from Tesco Direct for £100.
The sound it makes is very good, with a surprising amount of bass, worth a look if they are still going for that price.
You'll see a thread in here I've got running about an issue with the sound, however I think it is linked to my DVD player, as it doesn't happen any other time.
