OK, yes, I'll admit it - I did a "Betamax" and bought into the HD DVD thing. I managed to get a HD DVD player for my (old) XBox (about £30 off of EBay) and amassed a fair collection of discs (about twenty).

Since then, I've gone all Blu-Ray and got a new XBox which probably won't accept the HD DVD player, so my twenty or so discs are now redundant.

Is there still a market for these discs? If I stuck them on EBay would I get much interest?

I'm in a similar boat. I decided to "invest" in both HDDVD and BluRay because at the time some studios were locked to only one format.

Three weeks later Toshiba ran up the white flag and killed HDDVD.

I have no more than 25 titles. I doubt any are so rare that there's a market for them at a price more than the postage costs. The ones that also have DVD copies in the box will stay. Some I will replace with BluRays. The rest will go in the loft with the player when I get round to it. That will free up an HDMI slot for Apple TV, my next great folly.

I occasionally look on eBay for an external HDDVD drive so I can rip the lot to the hard drive, but those external drives seem unduly expensive.

I haven't, to be honest. I've still got the installation disk, but would be worried about buggering up a brand-new XBox.

It seems that everybody has virtually the same collections of HD DVD's! I'd be interested in a few of them, all films I've got on dvd, but would be nice to get them in HD. How much would you want for each film?

Can't you use the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive on a computer (Vista/OSX 10.5 onwards)?

Not a clue. Didn't pay much for them (obviously). Make me an offer via PM.
