Help! Got a pretty average Sony surround sound unit but really miss listening to my favourite Bands through a really good separates system. I need a one-catch-all solution but the room is a fookin odd shape! (Couch over to the left by the light in the picture)

Thoughts?

Cannot see where the Settee is but one solution would be to turn the room round and place the TV and Audio kit where the Settee is. Then With the settee in the window space you can also have a chair/settee in the gap between the rooms. Audio wise I find Stereo output still gives an Impressive Home Cinema sound as well as better Music reproduction. If the Centre/Sub/rears are still wanted you used to be able to get an add on processor for it.

I can't really see what difference the shape of the room makes, it will move the sweet spot around and you will get some odd reflections, so this means you will have to spend a fair bit of time playing about with speaker placement.

I'd put the Tv in the bay window.
