This afternoon, I watched a bit of a movie on one of these. B&O jobbie with 7.2 surround sound. My ears are still ringing and my brain is still trying to comprehend the action. In a room not much bigger than my living room. Any one know how much one of these bad boys cost, so that I may start saving?

Does that price include the structural engineer required to assess you property? They have to check the building can take the weight of the stand and TV.

I have a 1080p projector projecting about 100" with 7.2 sound in my pokey little living room. All for less than £1500, mostly with relatively new equipment, albeit bought second hand from various places. I'd hate to think of the power consumption of that LCD panel!

I used to work at a B&O dealer and a lot of our customers were money no object people.

One of the services we offered was to take everything the customer was considering buying and set it up in their home. We would take a range of TVs just in case they decided the TV was the wrong size when they got it home. This service was free but I think we got a sale everytime.

However, We had one person build an extension including his TV room and he had already picked out and paid for his TV. We delivered the TV and he decided it was too small. We took a larger one and he decided the room was too small. He took the entire extension down and started again from foundations up so that the house fitted the TV.

Correct in that the panel comes from a Panasonic factory. Everything else is B and O. Considering the B and O includes a speaker that the pana doesn't, enhanced picture processing, built in surround decoder and av processor. The price is not that much different.

My boss has the Panasonic here in Dubai, mostly used by his wife to play Playstation etc on.

It's an incredible piece of kit but really does dominate all but the largest of rooms!

Structural engineer needed my arse! Surely you don't need a structural engineer for something that heavy ?!?! That's three 15 stone blokes sitting on a sofa.

My speakers are 80kg's each and haven't disappeared through the floor in the five years I have owned them biggrin
