Odd one this. We have a small Sony LCD in the kitchen with an in-built Freeview tuner which, up until the switchover, never caused an issue. Now I find that almost everyday the tuner needs to be re-tuned as Channel 4 starts to break up otherwise (other channels seem OK).

It shares an aerial with the large TV in the lounge which also has an in-built tuner but doesn't show the same problem at all. This leads me to think that the aerial isn't the issue and there is some problem with the Sony unit.

Anyone any ideas or seen something similar?

To run two TVs from the same aerial you usually have a small amplifier in the line somewhere - so that might be an idea.

I had this problem on an older TV following the digital switchover.

The solution that worked for me was to reset the TV back to factory settings and retune the TV from scratch. No further problems after that.

I'll certainly try the factory reset, nothing to lose after all and I do already have a powered amplifier attached to the TV in an attempt to boost the signal, but that doesn't seem to do much.

What are ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and Channel 5 like?

They share the same multiplex as Channel 4.

I'll check those channels next time it plays up (later on today probably)

Whereabouts in the country are you? Since the switchover on the South Coast I've had to re-tune my main TV in the lounge regularly (ranges from every couple of days to weekly), it was never a problem before.

I'm in the Midlands, Nottingham specifically. What is strange is that in can be OK one minute and then start to break up the next, right in the middle of a program which strikes me as strange.

Not seen any issues on the other channels (ITV, etc)
