I like to listen to music at work and I currently have some slightly knackered Sennheiser PX 100 open backed headphones and I'm concious of playing the music too loud and disturbing people.

I'm happy to pay £40 - £60 for some new headphones but unsure as to whether I ought to buy in-ear types or closed-back. I'm aware of the virtues of open-backed vs closed-backed.

Thanks

I use Shure SE535s and a Fio E7 at work. Superb sound and i dont irritate anyone by "sodcasting". A few people here still wear cans, I am probably being over cautious as it makes no sense - but i always think that cans look less "professional"/acceptable for the workplace than in ears (i guess unless you are a DJ).

Just my two penniworth.

If you want in ears, check out Shure / Etymotics / Ultimate Ears.

Thanks, the SE535 are a bit our of my price range biggrin

I share your thoughts about large over-ear ones not looking very professional, I might check out the other Shure headphones. The NOCS NSXXX headphones also get a good write up
