Samsung UE46ES8000 Problems (again)
Discussion
Hi PH, got this TV last week, on the first night of having it it developed a blue line down the right hand side of the TV, this went away after 5 mins, then on the next day it had a yellow line down the side of the TV. So back the TV went and I got a replacement.
Now on this 2nd TV its developed a purple line down the right hand side in the same place as the last 2.
So I'm going to have to bring this one back aswell.
Has anyone had this? I'm starting to get royally pissed off now.
ETA: Image, this has been rotated 90 degrees for some reason.

Hi i to have just bought a 46" 8000 samsung tv on 22/8/12 and im on my second one within a week. The first tv had the line down the screen if the tv had been on for 2 hours, so i returned it to comet and they gave me a new one this one has lasted 4 days and has got the same problem as the first and it looks to be the same problem your having, Not good. there is a engineer coming out to see the problem so i will let you know how it goes. i love the tv but im lossing faith fast as there is clearly an issue and its not a cheap tv i also dont want to have to replace it after only one year if it gose fault after the warrenty is out.

That's interesting you say Comet, that's where I bought mine from, maybe it's been a bad batch.I'm on my 3rd now, and I've had it 3 days and no issues so far.
Fingers crossed, because I'm not getting a 4th one if it goes the way of the other 2. I'll buy a panasonic.
Out of interest which comet did you buy yours from? My first one was from Irvine, and the replacement was from Kilmarnock, my current one is from Irvine again.
Hi, thats me picked the 3rd one up today after samsung and comet playing me of one another, so far so good but its only been on 3 hours, so we will wait and see. If this one does the same ill be going the panasonic route to, i hope this one is fine cause i really like the tv. i got my tv from comet in southport. Also samsung are claming that they have not heard of this issue before but they would report it to the correct department after speaking to them today, there might be a recall yet.
Had one since spring, brilliant set and picture imhe. Does seem like a batch problem going on as mines been faultless.
Top tip.
For peace of mind I bought via John Lewis for the inclusive 5 year no quibble guarantee, which actually is not a lot dearer overall than the price the likes of Curries sell things to you if you then add an equivalent guarantee to it.

Samsung claiming they have not heard of this problem before is a lie, because I let them know about it a couple of weeks ago.I don't think Samsung would issue a recall, as it seems to be a handful of sets, I think we were just unlucky, a google search on this issue with this model of TV didn't bring up alot of results.
I have had my set for 4 days now, and there have been no issues. I'll update here again if it happens for the 3rd time. (Which if it does I'll be going for the VT range of Panasonic plasmas)
