Hi all,

We've finally decided to upgrade our tv, we've had the existing Philips 32' for about 7 years now.
We are looking for something between 40'- 46'. Budget is roughly £500.
As its soo long since I bought a tv I'm a bit stumpt what to look for.

We spotted this One;

However it's only 720p.

Any advice or suggestions would be great.

720p wouldn't faze me for that size of TV... Having said that, if you're not bothered about 3D, I'd probably go for the 42X50 they have on the same site for a lot less personally!

We had actually looked at the 43x50 too. Found them on richer sounds for £299 and £399 respectively. So are going to pop down tomorrow and have a look.

Check out some of the 40 to 42' LG tvs in that price range. I prefer them to Samsung.

Richer sounds have some good prices

Personally speaking I have both a samsung and LG TV
Both are very good (LED) however the samsung menu system is not particularly massively easier than the LG's BUT it's miles ahead when looking at whats on etc - the LG will show the now and next options the samsung you can look 24-48 hours ahead
This is important if you are a saddo like me who likes to know what times "The Profeesionals" are on on ITV 4 as I like to be home in time and some days it's 5pm some days 4.50pm I like to be sat down 5 minutes before the start and there is nothing more frustrating than switching on expecting to get the last 5 minutes of Batman only to find your 5 bminutes into the story
