hi all,

I wondered if anyone could help me out. I'm new to Sonos and NAS!

I'm a mac user with approx 103GB on music video currently stored on the HD on the macbook

I've installed my NAS which is a "WD My Book Live Personal Cloud Storage 2 TB Network Attached Storage".

I've installed two Sonos speakers (1x3 & 1x5) + bridge. They are all working and I'm able to listen to internet radio etc.

The bit i'm struggling with is connecting my itunes library to sonos from the NAS. Yesterday I created a drive on the NAS called music and made it public and copied the whole itunes music folder over (took 9 hours overnight). However im putting the path \\nas\music\itunes\itunes music\itunes music library.xml into sonos and it says its connected, however none of my music is being shown in sonos.

also, i've pointed itunes @ the NAS and now in itunes its only showing my music, not my movies etc!

i'm a bit frustrated with it all and it shouldnt be this hard! any ideas anyone?

thanks in advance
andrew

My thoughts would be you are being to detailed in your drive and directory settings.

Just leave it pointed at the music directory and th tell the sonos box to do index the directory.

Also, the iTunes directory itemise stores the album/track/artist info separately to the album art, so the is a natty little addition to iTunes that has been written for Mac's that will link the two before you impot them across to the NAS drive.

Let us know how you get on.

Simple things - you did update the sonos config and update the folder where the music is didn't you?
