New Sky HD remote control
Discussion
Sorry to ask such a silly question.
My remote control has packed up, tried new batteries and no red light flashes on it when buttons pressed, so I will have to pick up a new one tomorrow morning.
After adding batteries, will it work straight out of the packet or does it need pairing to the HD box?

It will work the Sky box straight away, but you'll have to enter the code to make it control your TV.

I think you will have to pair it with the box, call sky and they will talk you through it, each make of tv needs a different 3 number code as far as I recall.
Having been through this, I am surprosed that someones worked straight out of the box.

Nonsense. The remotes will work The Sky box with no pairing. Pairing with a TV is a simple task explained in the link above. Having been through this, I am surprosed that someones worked straight out of the box.

On the subject of sky, those of you who cant get London ITV which is in HD there is a site somewhere where it explains how you can manually retune the box to that channel.
Cant live pause or record it, but if you watch a lot on ITV3, its obviously better in HD. My misses watches the soaps on it.

Strangest thing has happened.
Before shelling out £25 on a new remote I thought I would give the old one a final try. Put the batteries in and it works!!!
It's lost it's pairing with the TV but I only use that for volume anyway and can probably re-pair it if necessary.
Curious .....

Thats why when they say change the battery, do it quick, otherwise you have to reprogramme it. Saved some dosh though. Before shelling out £25 on a new remote I thought I would give the old one a final try. Put the batteries in and it works!!!
