So this isnt going to be by some stretch the best set up here but i thought id give my opinion on the equipement ive just got.

So i wanted a nice thin LED tv at a good size so when i move out (within a year) i can put my old 26inch samsung in my bedroom and this new one in my living room. So i chose the following as it fitted my needs nicely.

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/samsung-series-5-ue40...

First inpression are great! im sure theres better pics out there but for the money and for what this has (hd freeview, smart features etc) its ideal for me.

Next i wanted to get rid of my 5.1 sony system as the tower speakers just look clumsy as hell and take alot of room up and also doesnt sound that great any more. So i wanted to get a system that sounds great with my ipad/iphone etc as i play music like this alot. So i went for this.

First impression are again great the bluetooth connectivity is great with my iphone and very easy to set up. Again compared to some people the sound wont be amazing but to me it sounds great. nice and clear with a decent amount of deep bass.

Tonight i have to run out and get a longer hdmi cable for my ps3 to link up and also a optical lead for the samsung sound bar to link to the tele so as of yet i have not heard what it sounds like running through the tv.

Ill put some pics of the install later as im currently having some spacers made up to hang the sound bar in the postion i want.

Hopefully this has helped out anyone intrested in buying any of the above.

Few pics which seem to make the screen look alot smaller then it is!

The cable tidy seems to be alot more visable here due to lighting but it is painted the same colour as the wall itself.

So i have a nice little hideaway for the winter to save some money and move out!

That's a neat little bedroom setup there. I'd recommend a bigger subwoofer, but I guess your parents wouldn't appreciate it. wink

To be honest the sub is more than good enough, its pretty loud and sounds great for what i need. Maybe in a bigger room it might need up grading wink

Thankfully my son watches TV and games in the kitchen (the only TV without a separate sound system) so I don't have to worry about thumping bass (just yet).

Neat job with the cable tidy as well, short of chasing walls it gives the very next best thing.

Recommend having a read on AVforums about setting up your TV if you haven't already:

Nice little setup there. How did you do the cable tidy as I will need to do something similar over the weekend with the added bonus of having to drop (similar to yours), run along a few feet of skirting, then back up into an alcove. Is it somehow stuck/attached to the wall?

Cheers, the cable tidy has a adhesive backing so it just sticks to the wall. My rooms a cream/white kind of colour so we also painted the cable tidy otherwise it just sticks out like a sore thumb. As i said before it looks miles better in person as the light in photos makes it really show up.
