Sky anytime plus, standby vs on.

It seems to me that anything I'm downloading from the anytime library downloads quicker when the box is on (as in green light, showing a program on) than it does on standby.

Does anybody else find this, or am i talking nonsense?

If it is the case, any idea why?

Presumable it has a power saving mode which probably throttles everything including the processor and maybe even the network card.

This is all conjecture though! Perhaps someone can correct me?

My media streamer in standby literally just turns off the video card, everything else continues as normal.
