Newbie guide to Internet tv

I have sky plus hd. I have only just connected my broadband to my tv to get sky on demand.
What benefit are Netflix or love films to me? Could I get rid of sky? Will I need it?

Netflix is great for what it is, but I wouldn't see it as a replacement for Sky. It has very few recent films, at least the UK version doesn't.
