Remote/wireless speakers for a TV

Anyone with any experience?
Hearing impaired (not me). Wiring a set to extend from the TV is not really going to happen, not easy to get closer to the TV. Thought a set of wireless may do the trick for a quick fix before the other options are explored seriously. Need to keep it simple.
