Hi Guys,
My current setup consists of an Onkyo HTX22HD Sub/Amp paired up with Mordaunt Short Speakers, 4xMS302, 1xMS304.

I've been looking recently into getting a new setup, mainly due to wanting airplay, and more hdmi inputs, so a new AV receiver is required. If i upgrade the receiver this means that I will need a new subwoofer due to my current setup being the two combined.
So to sum it up I am considering just getting new speakers aswell, my Mordaunt Shorts are getting on a bit now and look a little bit tatty, and from what I can remember I didn't pay an awful lot for them at the time anyway.

So, new receiver: Pioneer VSX527: http://www.richersounds.com/product/av-receivers/p...
New speakers: http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-packag...

Does this sound like a reasonable setup, and is it going to provide a nice step up in terms of quality or am I just wasting money? I'm fairly new to this and have a budget of upto £600.

Given your budget was similar to mine, see if you can find a set of Canton 125MX .. they are discontinued in the summer so as a result are reduced in a lot of places. I much preferred the sound over the tannoys you have selected.

Saying that always pays to go and have a listen if you can.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to try and pop into my local richer sounds. The only problem being is that its only a small store so may be limited to what i can listen to.

Ended up with a few new bits today, going to keep my Mordaunt Short centre and rears for the time being.
Decided to go for the Pioneer VSX-527, also picked up a Monitor Audio Subwoofer and some Dali Zensor bookshelf speakers. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get it set up at the weekend. Was really impressed with the Dali's when listened to in-store though.
