Does anyone have or used one of these? I am interested, but also in a Sonus Connect. I onlly plan to listen to music in one room, and all my CD's need loading onto PC anyway, so wouldn't mind loading them onto the cocktail instead.

I assume it connects to an amp (i have a Cambridge Audio A5)?

The X10 has a built-in amp, although you're better off using either the digital or line out.

It's a very versatile piece of kit, & plays most files you can throw at it. I tried the Brennan first, but this is far better in capabilities and functionality. The web-based editing can be a little slow, but it's easy to set up. Recommend you use the Cocktail dongle. I had problems with an unbranded one which wouldn't allow it to connect.

There are frequent firmware updates, each one improving the system. Ripping is fairly quick, even at 320k. It does incremental back-ups, and the interface is easy to use. Plus the album artwork is nice to have.

Thanks for the reply. Am i right in thinking if i load all my CD's into it, i won't have to bother with all the 'wireless/media/streaming' business? Sorry, but a bit noob to all this stuff.

You can use it as a hard-drive and access all your ripped CD's direct from the unit. It'll also stream wirelessly if you require. And you can back-up everything on the X10 to an external hard-drive.

It also has internet radio capability, which opens up a world of possibilities.
