Do any of the latest models at around 42" come without these features? I'm just looking for good picture and a low cost, doesn't need to have youtube as it will have a PC plugged into it.

I guess this would probably be a good example of good picture (I would obviously need to check in a store) but without all the silly toys http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-42LS3450-42-inch-Widesc... ?

I bought an LG 42LS3450 a few weeks ago. Can't recommend it highly enough. Easy to set up and use with a great picture. Even the sound is more than adequate for my living room. Mainly using it with Virgin cable.

Got it from Argos for £329.99, with a £10.00 Argos voucher thrown in too! It is in the Argos catalogue as an LG 42LS3400, but "You may receive a substitute of similar specification, but which is cosmetically different." I was a bit worried about this, but needlessly as it turned out.
Just looked and is in stock to collect at my local Argos for £329.99.

Richer Sounds has some good deals at the moment, I'm hoping to pick up a surround sound system from them this week.

I'd recommend a Panasonic plasma. I've had two (42" & 37") and both have been fantastic.
