Hi all

Can anyone recommend a good 37" TV around the £400 mark to replace my old man's 28" CRT please? He doesn't watch a lot of TV but I think he might find a Smart TV with iplayer etc of some benefit as he said he often forgets to record things he would like to watch, and would prefer to buy from John Lewis if possible for the warranty, although looking on their site the choice at this size is extremely limited, and all over £400.

He has Sky+ (the old white box without HDMI) and regular Freeview signals to use so the only HD signal will be on Freeview at the moment, and although the broadband box is in the same room WiFi connectivity would be easier (although not essential) as it would otherwise need Cat5 running around the edge of the room.

I'm a little out of touch with the latest TVs having not really looked since I bought my Panny G10 plasma about 3 years ago, but I assume nothing has really changed in the pecking order of manufacturers?

What's the Samsung UE37ES5500 like, Richer Sounds have it for £400 which i assume JL would price match, it seems to get positive comments, although possibly an outgoing model?
