Recommend me a 24-28" telly please.
Discussion
My parents want a recommendation; I know nowt about tellys beyond an unsubstantiated prejudice against anything that doesn't have Samsung, Panasonic or Sony written on the front. The telly being replaced is a crappy 20" Sharp which has developed an intermittent fault and has truly dreadful sound; it's like listening to a set of earphones turned up to maximum, so they would like something that they can hear(especially the old man who's getting pretty deaf) from across a 14' by 12' room. Budget ceiling is £300.

If he doesn't have hearing aids get him to have his hearing tested. The NHS can provide some sophisticated digital ones now. An added bonus is 20% discount on all train fares for him and your Mum when they travel together. At that size room a 32" would work pretty well and most of the "better" sets start at that size. Richer Sounds do have a Sharp and a Toshiba that come in below £200 and in the case of the Sharp I can state that it is a good set for the Money. For £250 you can get a Samsung Full HD set with HD tuner. Sound wise the better the set the better the sound on it but if your father is still having problems then a "Soundbar" could help.
