Subwoofer recommendations
Discussion
Not my sphere of expertise, but I said I'd help find a suitable sub to add to a Denon stereo system which is equipped with a low level mono subwoofer output. Doesn't need to be especially powerful, maybe £250 budget or so, though the cheaper the better. It'll be used equally for TV and music, so a good all-rounder would be appreciated.
Plenty of choice here http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m57... at well under your budget, including some big names.

I have one of these but have now moved it to my Sonos system and added a X300 for my surround sound.

I have an XLS, and it's excellent - BKs are a real bargain.

Alternatively, try avforums for secondhand gear:-

Wharfedale sw150 is a good piece of kit for the cash (£170). It's an old sub released in 2003/4 but for the cash nothing comes near. Look it up it has 5star reviews everywhere.
Superfi have them exclusively and do a great package with a pair of diamond 9.1 speakers for £230. (Speakers are normally >£100)

I'm thinking of moving my XLS200 back into the living room...to use as a second sub to help fill a 'null' that I have in my room.
I'm already using a Monolith DF as the main sub, but the little '200 did a pretty good job on it's own before I got the Monolith in a 6.5 metre by 4 metre room.
