Recomend me a Soundbar please

Do you want a bar that just produces better sound than you get from the TV
Or
Do you want a bar that produces a very good attempt at true surround sound?
Two completely different solutions and cost points.
My personal recommendation for the latter is the Polk Surround Bar. Used it a lot and have one planned for the living room when the cinema/demo/playroom goes in.

Hi not worried about true surround sound just want to improve the sound and a little better bass for the occassional filmOr

Yup thats the one ..i think its cheap for what it does..and being a bit of an 'audiophile' im not that easily impressed!If you go to John Lewis they have them on permanant demo...also a British company i believe which i like.Orbitsound T12v3 Spatial Stereo Sound Bar with iPhone Dock

Very much so. Have a family friend who is one of the principals (which is how I found out about them and ended up with one). I'm not an audiophile by any means, but it sounds fantastic to me, and to coin a phrase 'it just works'.Q-Acoustics Q-TV2?

But that shouldn't be a problem if your TV has (as most do) an audio out such as optical.

It replaced a 5.1 setup, and whilst it's not as good, it's good enough (90% of the way there).

Sound wise it is far superior to the 8yr old sony surround sound satellite speaker/receiver package it replaced and while obviously not as good as a full separates setup, for the money and compact dimensions i find it very hard to fault for TV/movies. Not convinced for stereo music reproduction but no multi channel setup i have listened to has come close to an equivalent 2ch setup.
This is a new product from those wacky Sonos people! I can't wait to get our Demo one

Yamaha YSP1000, a few years old now but can work amazingly well. Under £200 on eBAY.
Unfortunately doesn't work well in my room due to layout. The surround sound on one side is simply incredible, rock solid. Confused the crap out of the dogs, unfortunately the other is non existant.
Boxed back up in case i move to another house where it works.

I recently picked up a LG NB3520A 2.1 Sound bar. Did a lot of research and this was one of the best rated reasonably priced bars. Price varies from £200 - £250.
Has a wireless subwoofer which packs a fare punch. I've got it stashed behind a couch which works perfectly. You can connect your phone to the bar aswell to play music through it.
