Thought I'd ask on here as a starting point.

I have an old-ish Rotel Integrated Amp (RA-314) that my dad bought in the late 70s It's served me well for the past ten years with periodic contact cleaning. It's finally starting to show its age and the contacts on both the function and volume dial are packing in.

Does anyone know of a good place to take it to for a bit of a refurb? From what I can tell from googles, there's a fair bit of snobbery and nose turning with it not being a valve amp.

Any info would be appreciated.

Don't know what part of the country you're in, but if near London give this guy a call:

Not wanting to put a downer on this but is 70's budget amp.
Probably cheaper to buy another than service it.

I have an RA-10 "Budget Amp" in its place.

It's a good old amp (a months wages for a vessel design engineer in the 70s :P) and worth spending couple of quid on. Cheers for the links. I'll probably end up sorting out new switches my self.

Can of contact cleaner and a soldering iron to run over dried out joints and it will last 20 years more.
(My only negative comment was down to it being not a great amp and easily bettered for less).
My current amp is late 80s vintage, (Exposure XX), so 25 years old ish.

It's just with it being my dads is all. It's served me well and the sound quality has been enough for me paired with the celestion cs4's. I'll get the soldering iron out this weekend.
