Have been having a clear out

got four boxes of VHS tapes

are there any good causes that re-use or put to good use

seems a shame to destroy

local museums wont be interested yet

will pose question here and now have a google...................

Most charity shops have a no VHS policy.

Pretty sure someone has posed that question before on here, and the general consensus was there's little to do other than bin them. As already said, charity shops don't want them, you'd be lucky to flog them at a car boot, and selling on eBay would likely cost more to list and send than you'd get for them.

Sad, but it's the way it is really with VHS unless its something special.

any tv recoridngs, get them onto digital: you never know, someone might want to watch that 6 o'clock news from 1998...

had a search on PH, came to nought,

had a google and it pretty much echoes what you guys have said,

did find this interesting clip for before you bin your video players though

If you rip out the inner reels it's awesome for bondage games. Surprisingly strong too, not had one escape yet.

No idea what to do with the cases though. Bin them.

If they are very old like pre 1985 (known as a pre certification tape) then they could well be worth a few quid as these are now highly collectable especially if they are horror or were on the 'video nasty' list.
If I said some on that list of 39 banned films are now worth up to £2000 then I suspect you would be surprised wink
