HI
In the market for a new TV, and currently like the look of the Panasonic VT55, however before I jump in just couple of questions.

Ive discounted all other brands and tv types (LED ) purely on information from pistonheads deristricor (does he still post?)and other commenters from 5 years ago.

Is this a mistake as i realise things move on and it seems Samsung are taking over the world now.

And does anyone know when the new 2013 tv's will be released?

Any rumor of anything spectacular coming out, or just an slow evolution of what we currently have?

Any help or pointers appreciated.

All the existing models remain in 2013 iirc. The GT50 becomes the GT60, the VT50 the VT60 and so on. The VT50 is only replaced in the sense it loses its flagship model status by the ZT60 with its new gapless panel.

I've also read somewhere, probably whathifi, that the ZT60 will be released as a limited edition run in one size of 60in across Europe with a rrp of around 4 grand. Once these are sold out the VT60 will be back on top, you could say.

Probably going to go for the GT60 if my failing LG can hold out and I really hope they've improved on the user friendliness off the smart features. I was ready to buy a GT50 but was quite disappointed with the smart features and the poor phone app in particular.

Looking forward to seeing the ZT60 in action, time will tell if it's the "Kuro killer" they claim it to be!

At least there are some good deals on the VT50 range now the introduction of 2013 tv's gets closer. I did a good deal and took delivery of a 65VT50 on Friday and have to say I am chuffed to bits with it. The picture is stunning and it is still 'running in', I initially thought 3D was a gimmick but very impressed with the results from 3D Blu ray.

The 2013 tv's would have to be a massive jump forward for me to regret buying now at a saving but then I will probably keep it for a few years anyway.
